Gold is Golden when it comes to finishes that are on trend.

The big finish at market was Gold in various styles: Polished Gold, Satin brass, Satin Gold, French Gold and Gold leaf. It was seen in all categories-lighting, furniture and accessories. You will see this finish gain steam over the next few years. It is still on the leading edge of the design curve.

The emerging finish was Rose Gold and some copper. I don't think this will be a long lived trend, but will be for those that want the latest and trendiest look....and have the funds to update in a few years when it goes out of fashion.

I am advising all of my clients to go with the gold finishes on their lighting fixtures, pumbing trims and hardware in their kitchen and bath renovations. This finish will still look fresh years from now. Still current and with a little life left is bronze. Satin nickel is dead on arrival and will be outdated as soon as it's installed (their are some modern exceptions to this statement but as a rule avoid this finish).
